Climbing
the Toubkal summit is in no way an easy venture. It involves:
1. waking at 5 Am, when the sun is barely visible behind the mountain
peaks
2. Walking
on rubble , steep terrain, at altitudes (up to 4200 meters) which slow
your breath and freeze your hands (which have the odd tendency to swell
as the weather heats up and the pressure decreases!)
3. Raiding
already empty "Hanuts" (small shops) for their remains of
cookies, chocolates and mintless green tea!!
4.
Contemplating your own weakness as you read the inscriptions of those
courageous locals who climb the summit twice, thrice.. seven times,
and write it in stone!
But we made
it!
